The World Series of Poker Europe is being played in The Casino at the Empire in London, England from September 18 to October 1 and will consist of 4 events total. Many of the faces that came from all around the globe for the WSOP in Las Vegas, Nevada, will take seats at these tables. Just like in the 2009 World Series of Poker tournaments held in Las Vegas at the RIO earlier this year, the World Series of Poker Europe will reward the champion players with gold bracelets. Also added to the line up is the Caesar’s Cup which will pit the best players in the Americas verses the best players on the other side of the ocean. Daniel Negreanu will head the Americas team while Annette Obrestad who won the first WSOPE Main Event at 18, will lead the European team. While there will be no bracelet awarded in the Caesar’s Cup, the winner will have massive bragging rights and a ton of ESPN cameras to witness the whole affair. And Betfair who is presenting the entire event, has added a Million Dollar Freeroll that will have 1 person of a group of 18 qualifiers who won their seats online take home $1 million US dollars for their efforts. This also is not a bracelet event, but with 1 million dollars you can design your own bracelet.
Highly expected to take seats at the tables are Neil “Bad Beat” Channing, Ian Woodley, Howard Lederer, Jesper Hougaard, James Akenhead of the November Nine, Sherkhan Farnood, Andy Bloch, James Keys, Raymond Rahme, Jeff Madsen, Roland DeWolfe, Eric Seidel, David “Devilfish” Ulliott, Phil Hellmuth Jr., Suriander Sunar and Richard Kellett just to name a few.
In past events, incredible battles have taken place at the WSOPE. The year 2007 saw Annette Obrestad win the largest amount ever for a woman in any sporting event when she won the first Main Event, taking home £1 million pounds or $2,013,102 in U.S. dollars. Also last year saw John Juanda hammer it out for 21 hours at the final table to take the second Main Event title. This is truly an international event with gold bracelets on the arms of champions going home to the countries of Denmark (2), Afghanistan, Germany, Italy, Norway and USA so far.
This will be filmed and shown by ESPN, so don’t think the hot table action is slowing down from Las Vegas as the Main Event gets to the final table. In 2008, players came from 124 nations to participate in tournaments at the RIO. The WSOP has evolved into a global competition, so watch the broadcasts closely. You never know where the next hot player will come from.
Are you a beginner looking to play some gambling games on the Internet? If you are, then be forewarned – the odds are against you if you have very little knowledge about the industry. Here are some quick tips and hints that may help you get started quickly.
Always pay attention to reviews.
Always read casino reviews to find out more about the online site that you are dealing with. Different sites use different software and have different payment regulations. Choose a site with a good reputation to avoid future problems. Most importantly, the software has to be dependable.
Also, you want to pick a casino that has all your favorite games. If an online game site has a lack of games, you may find yourself having to join one site to play a game, then log off to go to another site to play another game. Fortunately, most of the commonly played games are available almost everywhere. The casino reviews will provide you with the information you need.
Take advantage of bonuses.
Free bonuses are often offered to new players to lure them into starting an account. The bonus is usually deposited into your account once you make your first deposit. For instance, your account may be credited with $100 bonus as soon as you deposit at least $100 into your account. A deposit is necessary to filter out those gamers who are not really serious about betting. Otherwise, the casino will just be handing out free money.
Sometimes, you do find free bonuses that require zero deposit. Online casinos that are willing to undertake all that risk will offer no deposit bonuses. If so, there is no need to deposit real cash from your bank account. You may be required to furnish the website with some personal details for verification purposes before you can claim your bonus.
You are going to need some time to get used to the games and system. So use the bonuses wisely. The bonuses will act as a buffer in case you make mistakes. In the event that you lose during your first few games, you would just be losing your bonus money. However, if you got lucky and end up winning the first few games, you get to keep everything.
Sharpen your skills before plunging in.
Not underestimate the games offered by an online casino. But certain games, especially card games like Poker, requires a certain level of skill. If you have never played a game for long, be sure to make a conscious effort to read up more. Pick up some new strategies and then try them out in games that do not require you to bet with real money.
See how the strategies work in a simulated play. That will help save you from expensive losses. A few simulated plays can help you learn from your own mistakes. Only when you are confident with the game should you go all out to play with real cash in online casinos.

Multi-player games have been experiencing strong growth in recent years. It does not matter if you are 20 years old or 50 years old – all come together online to interact and have fun.
If you are looking for a new game to join, you will discover that you are spoilt for choice. Some of the more popular games include World of Warcraft, Starcraft, 2029 online, Everquest, and the more recent Evony.
Every player must buy the original CD before he or she can start playing. The activation key is usually found on the CD itself, or at the back of the case cover. All new players are required the enter the activation key before an account can be created. Without the official key, a player cannot log on to the game servers.
MMORPG games have changed greatly, together with the growth of the Internet. CDs and activation keys are no longer strictly required. Bandwidth has increased greatly, and individuals can now download entire games online. Players can now download huge installation files within minutes and install the games on their computers. After successful installation, players can start logging on to play the games.
Game developers have also discovered that they can now bypass the traditional distribution channels. In other words, they do not need brick and mortar stores to help them release a game. The Internet can take care of everything.
The game of Evony is a very good example. No hard purchase is needed to start the game. Through PPC, the game is able to attract millions of players. As no upfront purchase is needed, anyone can register for an account and start playing instantly.
The game continues to be free perpetually. No upgrade is necessary for game play to go on. In other words, the game does not expire. So if players don’t pay upfront to play, how can revenue be generated to support the game?
Money is made by selling additional items to existing game players. To level up quicker, you can always spend real money on virtual items. To remain competitive, you may be forced to spend money to level up. If you don’t start buying, that means you are willing to spend hours of your time in the game trying to level up. You can choose to purchase special items such as weapons. You may also interact with other players and make mutually beneficial trades!
To a game player, whether it’s an account or a character, it takes time to level up. To level up manually means to stay weak for a longer period of time, and more time is needed to become stronger. Very often, players become impatient and start paying to get better and stronger. So they spend more money, in the hope that they can spend less time leveling up.
The better multiplayer gamers are often setup in such a way that the game play encourages players to form alliances. It is not uncommon to see a popular game having hundreds of private guilds. Some are public guilds, where everyone can join, and some are private guilds. The role of the guild is to provide additional support for its members to overcome the challenges in the game. In this way, there is more interaction and playing in a group is certainly more fun and enjoyable!

To play online poker in California in 2010, in a U.S. regulated market, for many Internet players could become a reality as the budget woes of the state have raised interest in alternative revenue sources. Leading the effort to make Internet gaming a reality are the Poker Voters of America (PVA) who sponsored the California Online Poker Law Enforcement Compliance and Consumer Protection Act (AB2026) in early 2009. Other efforts are being initiated by the Morongo Band of Mission Indians who owns the Morongo Casino joined by the Commerce Club based in Los Angeles. The goal is to set up a framework that allows the California public to enjoy the game on an intrastate basis by 2010, with some actually eyeing the end of 2009. Pretty much this will happen as the general consensus is the lawmakers in Sacremento are on board with it.
But California is not alone with budget problems and lower revenue from the current forms of gambling, which include state lotteries, land based casinos and slot machines. In the US, 48 states have seen shortfalls from gamimg revenue in the past year and since the 1990’s, they have come to a certain level of dependance on them. Many are seeking to expand on their sources of gaming revenue and are looking to do the same as California, with Florida to consider such a bill in 2010. On a national level, Senator Robert Menendez (D-NJ) introduced his bill (S 1597) to complement the efforts of the bill that Congressman Barney Frank (D-MA) (HR 2267) has introduced to allow the afecionados of the game to enjoy themselves on the Internet. These bills address such issues as establishing a complete licensing and regulatory framework for the internet gambling industry in the United States, underage and compulsive gambling prevention and of course a nice level of profit for the coffers of the United States. All participants will have to be at least 21 years of age. It also seems that many Internet gaming websites are positioning themselves for this opportunity as on August 26th, Reuters reported that PartyGaming PLC of the UK purchased nearly all the assets of the World Poker Tour. Others such as the 888 gaming group have plans to purchase available resources to make inroads into the American market when regulated.
Every state has the right to form an intrastate form of Internet gaming under the UIGEA law and it seems that more states may choose to go along this path if they see monetary success with what California does. There will be numerous issues that need hammering out, ranging from fair representation for all Indian tribes and card rooms to Internet software that will be used to keep those under 21 from using credit cards belonging to their parents. But in the end, it is highly likely that you may hit a royal flush verses your opponent over the internet within the next few months.
